Matchbox 2015: The Standouts so Far (Part I)

The sometimes overlooked other half of Mattel's die cast duo, Matchbox, has released a handful models in 2015 that have set the collecting world abuzz. Realistic wheels, muted paint schemes and added details have been the theme...Hot Wheels take note!

2014 Chevy Silverado 1500

First up, the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500. Matchbox heeded the 'keep-it-simple-stupid' motif in designing this one. A deep blue paint scheme, and no unseemly tampos.

Matchbox really delivered on this model. A license plate on a 1$ car?

However simple, the details on this one stand out. Emblazoned with the ubiquitous gold bow tie, this model also gets painted taillights and tailgate details.

BMW M1

Perfect detailing, curvy lines and realistic proportions. Plus treaded tires and Euro-Style license plates. What's not to like?

Stay Tuned for Part II…
