If yesterday's post left you feeling a little blue, fear not, we're back with the next 2 2015 Matchbox models that are blowing collectors away: The 1966 Dodge A100 Pickup and the '93 Ford Mustang LX SSP. Okay, okay, so the '93 Mustang came out in 2014 but it has carried over to the 2015 A case and it is just too cool not to review.
At The Western Diecast Review we absolutely love realistic die cast models, and these 2 deliver! Sure Hot Wheels has a pretty darn cool A100 themselves, but Matchbox's iteration is something you can easily picture completing delivery routes around town circa 1966. This is truly an 'as-it-was' piece. The same goes for the '93 Mustang.
1966 Dodge A100 Pickup
The highlights of the A100 include 'MBX Auto Parts' decos on the side, and stylized 'Dodge' handwritten on the doors. The stance is just perfect for a delivery pickup of this era…not too low and not lifted. The clear windows are a nice touch in an age of fluorescent windows on die cast vehicles. The corner windows on the back are very reminiscent of the era…enjoy the photos. This is a must have for any die cast collector!
'93 Ford Mustang LX SSP
This model really drew collectors' attention back to the Matchbox line when it started showing up in late 2014. They were snapped up quickly by die cast collectors itching for a realistically proportioned fox-body Mustang at a 1$ price point. But the good news is that these are hitting stores again in your area in 2015 case codes! So get out there! I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
Stay tuned…we will be reviewing the latest entertainment models from Hot Wheels tomorrow.
