Matchbox Monday: Porsche Cayenne and BMW M1

Maybe Matchbox Monday will become a theme around here. Today we grabbed 2 models from 2013 to review for you guys. Some other die cast blogs on the internet have been calling for a return to Matchbox's 'golden age' of realistic releases with muted paint schemes and careful detailing. While we second this notion, we only had to go back 2 years to find 2 of the best releases Matchbox has ever put out.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo

This is one of our favorite Matchbox models of the past 5 years. First off, it is one of the last to use the sculpted '5-spoke' style rims. These are realistic and fashionable all at once. The tan interior evokes the tan leather that came standard on most Cayenne releases. Realistic proportions and ride height combined with acutely detailed license plate, headlight, taillight and emblem tampos make this model a keeper.

BMW M1 (Orange)

We reviewed the M1 in blue a couple of weeks back and thought it was high time we dig out the orange version. The ride height and curves are just incredible on this model. Enjoy the shots!
